Chapter 3 - Ripper
Section 01
“Back to the Hilton hotel,” Martta instructed the cab driver. On the way back she sat in silent contemplation. Her past with Lucas was over. Now her future held only pain, suffering and death.
The driver pulled up to the hotel entrance. She paid him and tipped him an extra $100.
“Be back tomorrow at 11:00 am and ready to take me to the airport,” she said.
“Yes ma'am” the driver acknowledged and then drove off.
Martta went up to her room, ordered room service and had a long shower. After dinner, she had a long relaxing hot bath. She let the bath just drain away any thoughts clearing her mind, eventually falling asleep in the bathtub.
In the morning, Martta took another shower and then checked her travel itinerary, to make sure all the reservations and tickets were confirmed and paid for. At 11:00 am, she had the cab take her to the airport.
With the layovers, it would take almost three days to reach her destination of Delhi, India. The trips and layover were uneventful and pleasant except for the last plane ride.
There was a man in business class that kept trying to molest women and wouldn’t stop. Martta had been enjoying a nice glass of wine in first class when she kept hearing the flight attendants trying to deal with the man.
“Excuse me miss” she asked a flight attendant, “What seems to be the problem?”
The flight attendant replied, “I’m sorry ma’am. We have a gentleman who is causing problems for some passengers. He won’t stop or settle down”.
“Isn’t there some sort of police officer on the flight?” Martta inquired.
“No, unfortunately this flight does not have an air Marshall. The gentleman is rather large and has already struck one of the male flight attendants and the copilot. We honestly don’t know what to do”
“One last question, how much is this glass? Not the wine but the glass. I want to keep it as a souvenir,” Martta smiled.
“It is $20 dollars,” the attendant replied.
Martta took the $20 and handed to the attendant.
“Thank you,” she told the attendant.
Martta then got up and walked back to where the man was. She walked up to him and said, “Excuse me”.
The man sneered back, “What do you want slut?” and reached for her left breast.
Martta threw her drink in his face, grabbed his hand and twisted him down on his knee. She then broke off the stem of the glass, put it to his crotch and told him, “Sit back down, shut up and never touch anyone else again on this flight, or I am going to stick this in that little thing you call a dick and watch as you bleed to death.”
When Martta got back to her seat, she told the flight attendant, “I think I am going to need another glass of wine. I seem to have broken the last one”.
Section 02
The rest of the flight went peaceful and uneventful. After she landed, Martta caught a cab to her hotel, checked in and went to sleep for the night.
The next afternoon, Martta met one of her paid contacts at a local library. They met in a private study room so, they could be undisturbed.
Alejandro Sanchez was a human rights activist, who worked with a wide network of other human rights activists across the globe. It was one of his local groups that had brought the information to his attention.
“So has there been any change in the last week Alejandro?” Martta asked.
“Yes. Another one tuned up in a college dorm,” Alejandro replied.
“Same symptoms? Throat cut and organs removed?” she asked.
“This time it was the heart, liver and lungs. It was made to look like organ harvesting, but the cuts were not professional and the victim had HIV so the organs are useless”.
“How many victims does that make?” Martta asked.
“27, in the last year alone,” Alejandro replied.
“27, in the last year alone. Damn it, if I had gotten to work sooner than that would be 27 more innocent people left alive,” Martta kicked herself mentally for her inaction.
“Do you know who is doing this?” Alejandro asked.
“Yes, but you wouldn’t believe me. She has changed her looks, so old photos of her won’t help. But, there is a way to track her down. Tell your contacts they are looking for a midwife. Make a database of all the midwifes in a 20-mile radius, and we will start from there. Do not rule any out because of age.”
“That is going to be a very long list. Do you think we are looking at a team or just one person?” Alejandro inquired.
“It will be just her. She always works alone. Can you also see if the police or newspapers have been sent any letters? I can give you some hand writing samples to have them compared, so we can eliminate the ones that are not her,” Martta shared.
“If you have samples of her handwriting then you must know who she is,” He stated.
“Yes I do, her name is Mary Eleanor Wheeler Pearcey but that won’t help you. She will not be in any database nor will she be using her real name,” She said.
“Do you think we could use the samples of her handwriting, for checking against midwife certifications and licenses?” he asked.
“That’s a good idea, but we need to narrow down the list first. Have your resources start narrowing down the suspects. Anyone who has an alibi for this last murder eliminate as a suspect. Let me know when you have made progress, here is the number for the hotel I am staying at,” Martta gave him the information.
“What happens when we find her?” he asks.
“Then I extradite her,” Martta replies. Then under her breath Martta mumbles “straight back to Hell where she belongs”.
Section 03
Two weeks later, Alejandro calls Martta, “We have it down to just 800 women” he tells her.
“Down to 800 from a city of 18 million that is very good news,” she admonishes him.
“I think it is time we share our results with the police,” Alejandro tells her.
Martta thinks about the problems that could happen if the police corner Mary, “I am not sure we want to do that. It could get dangerous for the police, and she has shown that she enjoys killing.”
“But you are going to have to involve the police sometime, especially when you file the papers for extraditing her. By the way, you never said where you are extraditing her to.”
“Shit,” Martta thinks, “I forgot I told him that”.
Thinking quickly, Martta tells him, “I’m going to extradite her back where she came from.” To herself Martta thinks, “Back onto her table in Hell”.
“Where did she come from and why wouldn’t she go to prison here? She committed so many murders here.” Alejandro inquires.
Thinking responsively, Martta says, “She originally committed her first murders in London, so they would get her back first. Then, after she does her sentence, India would get her”.
Alejandro asks, “So you are an Interpol agent? What prison would she be put in?”
“No, I am not an Interpol agent. I work freelance for a cross jurisdiction fugitive recovery force. She would be taken to The Hague for trial and then sent to a prison they designate,” Martta’s reply seems to answer Alejandro’s questions.
A beeping on Alejandro’s phone interrupts them. “Let me take that it might be good news,” He puts Martta on hold. A few minutes later he comes back on the line with Martta, a more serious tone in his voice. “I will be there in 15 minutes to pick you up. There has been another one. I am leaving now,” And he hangs up.
Martta sets the phone down and changes her clothes into something more suitable for dealing with Mary. She dresses in a pair of Levis, tennis shoes, a pair of finger-less gloves, a cotton hoodie and last but not least, a metal baseball bat.
Alejandro picks her up and eyes the baseball bat.
Martta sees his look and says, “She’s dangerous and I have to subdue her somehow. She is probably on drugs and won’t come easy”.
Alejandro gives a slight tilt of his head and drives them to the new location.
Alejandro tells Martta, “Just to let you know. I have shared this information with the police. They are helping us to pull the records and make a visual data base of the photos on the midwife licenses, so we can find her easier. We should be able to narrow down her identify within the next week”.
When they get to the scene, there are several police cars blocking off the scene. Alejandro walks up to one of the officers and starts talking. A few moments latter, he grabs Martta and starts running.
Section 04
Alejandro in his excitement yells at Martta, “They have her in sight and are chasing her, come on”.
After a few blocks, they could see the police confronting a woman with a knife. Martta studied the woman’s looks, memorizing them. By the time the police got there, the woman had sliced two of them and was running away.
The police pursued Mary. Martta and Alejandro ran after her as well. After a block, they hear a police sergeant yell to two of the police officers “you two take the alley and cut her off”.
Martta grabs Alejandro’s arm and says, “Come on” and follows the two officers down the alley.
When they get to the turn in the alley, Mary has already killed the two officers and is using the alley to double back behind the police coming down the street. As Mary approaches the two of them, Martta shoves Alejandro into a pile of garbage and tells him, “Stay here out of site. I got this”.
Mary lunges at Martta with her knife. Martta brings her bat around and strikes Mary’s forearm causing Mary to drop the knife. Martta then steps forward and drives the end of the bat’s grip into Mary’s forehead.
In a surprise move, Mary draws another knife and slashes across Martta’s belly with it. The move has caught Martta by surprise. The force spins Martta around. However, Martta turns into the spin using its centrifugal force to complete the spin and swings the bat at Mary’s head, trying to bash Mary’s head in.
Mary tries to step out of the way and is partly successful. By stepping back, Mary changes where the bat hits her. Instead of the side of the head, the bat hits Mary on the jaw, breaking the jaw and sending several of her teeth flying down the alley. The force spins Mary around, but she too uses the spin and stabs Martta in the right thigh with her knife.
The fight continues between the two, working its way back out into the street. Mary has stabbed and slashed Martta several times. Martta in turn has struck Mary with the bat many times.
Once in the street, the fight continues with the crowd giving way. The police now are starting to circle the two, keeping people out of the fight while also keeping the two contained.
A few minutes later, Mary has injured Martta more, to the point that Martta is unable to run after her. Martta has broken about half a dozen ribs on each side of Mary’s rib cage. She has also broken Mary’s right forearm and wrist, so Mary cannot use her dominant hand. Mary is fighting left-handed.
Mary suddenly turns and runs into the oncoming traffic. She grabs the steering wheel of an oncoming SUV and directs it into Martta, sending Martta flying into a store window. The last thing Martta sees, before she passes out, is Mary carjacking another vehicle going the other way.
Section 05
“Well hello there, sleepy head. It's about time you woke up.”
Martta slowly opened her eyes to see Alejandro sitting in a chair next to her hospital bed.
“Ow,” Martta says as the pain hits her when she tries to sit up in the bed.
“DL 11 CAA 5793, in case you were wondering,” Alejandro says.
“Wondering what?” Martta asks.
“The license plate of the truck that hit you,” Alejandro teases.
Martta rolls her eyes at him, “How long have I been out?”
“Four days. You’re actually quite lucky. The doctors don’t know how you survived your injuries. You spent the first 36 hours in surgery,” He says.
Martta tries to move her arms to try to get out of the bed.
“Hey, you're not going anywhere for quite a while. You have injuries that the doctors say will take years to heal. You may have to have physical therapy for another five or six years to recover. If you can recover,” Alejandro tells her.
“The list of your injuries is 3 pages long. You are lucky you woke up in a hospital bed and not six feet under,” he continues.
“It wouldn’t be the first time,” Martta mutters to herself.
“How much do you remember of the fight?” He asks.
“Not much,” she lies, “it was all just a blur”.
“Well thanks to the cell phones of all the witnesses, the forensics team was able to put it all together. The combat forensic specialists have put together a little list of what you did to Mary with that bat. You broke each of her ribs three to six times. You caused the ribs to puncture at least the following internal organs: both lungs at least 4 times each, each kidney, the intestines 8 times, the stomach twice, at least once in the liver.”
He continues, “You caused separation of the coronal suture, broke the left mandible, shattered both zygomatic bones. In the arms you broke both clavicles and broke her right radius, broke three metacarpals in the right hand and fractured at least three carpals in it as well.”
“All in all, I think you were beating her, and she knew it. The truck was a last desperate ploy by her,” He finished.
“What happened to her?” Martta asked.
“Somehow she managed to keep it together and get away,” he answered, “but, not before she had killed 7 more police officers and 13 more people,” He added.
“The doctors think with all that you did to her, that her body is going to turn up any day now. The good thing is, thanks to the video, we know who we are looking for,” He concluded.
Martta rested her head against the pillows, reviewing the fight in her mind over and over. She realized that this was not going to be as easy as she thought it was going to be.
“Go ahead and just rest, I will have some of your things brought over,” Alejandro said before leaving.
Section 06
The next few days saw Martta in and out of sleep. She had decided to let the drugs take effect and to just get in some rest to quicken the healing process.
After the first week, she had a visitor from the police. The rank on his uniform showed sub-inspector. She could see though the window in her door that he wanted to question her, but the doctors and nurses would not let him citing health concerns for her. They told him it would be at least three weeks before she would be able to answer any questions.
After the second week, she had a healed enough that she could feel the surgical pins slowly being rejected by her body. The doctors didn’t want to remove them until she had new x-rays done. They were astonished at the speed she was healing and only agreed to remove them after Martta threatened to walk to a hardware store and get a pair of pliers and remove them herself. Two days after their removal, her bones had healed over the holes left by the pins.
At the end of the start of the second week, Martta was trying to walk and get around when Alejandro brought a new visitor. The lady he brought was the wife of the owner of the Motel Martta had been staying at. She was also the grand aunt of one of Mary’s victims.
“Hey Martta this is Devika, she wanted to come by and meet you,” he introduced her.
Devika saw Martta struggling to walk and said, “Please child, don’t strain yourself. Give yourself time to heal,” as she helped Martta back to the bed.
“I just wanted to come by, pay my respects and thank you for all you did to help stop the monster that killed my Trisha. My regret is that I was not able to do to her what you did. Please take your time and recover. There will always be a place for you at our hotel. Is there anything we can do to help you at this difficult time?” Devika gave a small bow of her head when she finished.
“Thank you for your generosity and compassion. They are taking good care of me here. I am in good hands,” Martta bowed her head to her. Then Alejandro and Devika left.
The next day the sub-inspector returned. The doctors and nurses were still trying to keep him at bay.
“I might as well get this over with,” Martta thought.
She walked to the door and said to the inspector, “I believe you have some questions for me sub-inspector,” and motioned for him to join her.
He questioned her for several hours. Martta realized he was just asking the questions, so he could fill out a report and be done with it. She lied to him, just enough, so he was satisfied and left. Finally, it was over, and she knew he wouldn’t be back.
Section 07
Over the next few weeks, Martta continued to recuperate and recover. The speed that she is healing at stuns the doctors and nurses. She is even healing injuries that are supposed to be impossible to heal.
One morning, one of the doctors corners her, “Martta we would like to run additional test to see what is wrong with you”.
“There is nothing wrong with me. I am just healing and getting better,” she replies.
“It is not physically possible for you to be healing so fast from the injuries you had. You should be bedridden for at least another six months. You have healed in weeks what should have taken years,” he tells her.
“Maybe my injuries were not as bad as you thought,” she teases.
“They were as bad as we thought, we have the x-rays and MRI scans to prove it,” he replies.
“Maybe, I am just one of those lucky ones who is resilient and heals quickly,” she teases as she proceeded to the gym.
In the gym, Martta continues her training, ignoring any onlookers. People come see her because she has gone from bedridden to near Olympic level of fitness in less than two months. While down in the spacious gym, she is also practicing her different martial arts.
Martta has decided to put her recover time to good use. Her days are now spent doing one of three things. She is either sleeping, physically training or conducting more searches for other escapees on her laptop.
Alejandro, who comes to visit her about once a week, is amazed at how much she is progressing. Finally, one day he asks, “Why are you pushing yourself so hard. It’s not like ‘Mary’ is going to come back. It been over two months she is probably lying dead somewhere and her body hasn’t been found yet”.
Martta looks at him with a serious face and says, “If I am healing then so is she. It’s only a matter of time before she starts again”.
Alejandro shakes his head in polite disbelief and some sympathy. He believes Martta is unable to accept the truth.
Midway through the next week Alejandro shows up again this time with Devika. His face is one of sober grief. On Devika’s face, Martta can see the path the tears have made from crying.
Martta asks, “What happened?”
“That murderous monster has returned and struck two times in the last week,” Devika sobs, “nothing can stop this monster,” Devika cries with loss of hope evident in her tone.
Martta proceeds to pack up her stuff then looks at Devika and says, “It’s time to get me a new hunting outfit. Do you know where a good sporting goods store is?”
Devika looks at her a little stunned but nods yes.
“Then let’s go shopping. It’s rabbit hunting season,” Martta says with happy face.
“No, it’s duck hunting season,” she continues with a confused look on her face.
She then gets a serious look and says, “NO, it’s definitely Mary hunting season.”
Section 08
Mary could feel it in the air, fear, pure fear. It was her fear. She was not the one who was afraid. It was the people of Delhi that were afraid, of her. They were afraid of what she would do, when she would do it, and they knew there was nothing they could do to stop it.
It was an intoxicating feeling. She loved the feel of the fear. When it was mixed with their blood, it was better than any sex she had ever had.
Mary knew she had an almost endless supply. She could have it whenever and however she wanted. All she had to do was reach out and take it.
It felt good to be having this fun again. Mary had almost forgotten what it was like. She had spent three long months recovering from what that woman with the bat had done to her.
Mary didn’t like to admit it, but that woman had almost killed her. Not with a gun or knife, but of all things to use a bat a stupid bat. Her only comfort at the lost time was knowing that the woman had died when Mary hit her with that SUV.
Now Mary was able to play again. Her last two kills had not been up to what she wanted. The new one, she was about to do, would make it all better. She was going to take her time and have fun. She might even start sending her special letters again.
There is her next toy. Walking along ignorant to the great joy she was about to bring Mary. Mary approached her and let her see the knife. The woman screamed and Mary brought her knife above her head. Oh, the feeling of pleasure that was there again!
Mary enjoyed the look of fear from the woman. The woman’s scream was pure music to Mary. Mary started to bring the knife down.
Then Mary dropped the knife.
Confused Mary looked at the knife on the ground then at her hand, wondering what is wrong. Her eyes move up her arm. Then she sees it. An arrow is sticking out of her shoulder.
“What is an arrow doing in my shoulder?” Mary wondered. Then the pain hits her. It was now Mary’s scream in the night.
As Mary is screaming, more arrows hit her. Mary turns to see where the arrows are coming from. She sees an archer in a hood walking towards her.
The archer keeps shooting and hitting her. Finally, the archer appears to run out of arrows after 12.
As the archer approaches, she takes off her quiver and tosses aside the bow and her hooded cloak. Mary can see her clearly now. “Her, it’s the woman with the bat. But now she has two axes. Axes, what kind of psychotic bitch is this woman and how is she still alive?” Mary asks herself.
Mary recognized the look in the woman’s eyes and knows in that instant that this woman is going to kill her.
Section 09
As Martta approached Mary, she could see the look in Mary’s eyes. Mary knew Martta was about to kill her. Now it was Mary’s turn to panic and plead like so many of her victims.
Martta watched the panic and fear dissolve from Mary’s eyes as Mary realized there would be no stopping Martta. In a twisted turn of events, Mary had switched places with her victim and now she was the one about to be killed.
Martta steps forward raising the axes getting ready to strike.
Three bean bag rounds slammed into Martta simultaneously. One hit her in the head and one hitting each shoulder. The impact threw Martta back and knocked her out.
Mary noticed, even then, that psychotic bitch didn’t let go of the axes.
Then 20 fully armed tactical police swarmed in.
Martta is shackled and hauled away in a police van. They didn’t quite know what to do with Martta but figured better safe than sorry.
Mary is similarly shackled despite her screams of pain. The police were taken no chances for a woman who had killed over 20 of them. Once Mary was secure, the police took her to an ambulance.
Several hours later Martta wakes up in an interrogation room. Two other people are there. One has the shoulder insignia of Chief Superintendent the other is a civilian.
As they both sit down at the table, the chief inspector starts. “We don’t quite know what to do with you Martta. That is the name your friends say you go buy. Is it alright for us to call you that?”
Martta nods.
“Taking Mary down was not going to be easy, despite the trap we set for her,” He said. “Yes, I said Mary. After your last encounter, your friend Alejandro shared her name with us. We ran a search and found the impossible. We then reached out to friends at Interpol for help.” He looks at the civilian and addresses him “Elite inspector Pierre Rousseau”
At this point, the civilian interrupted, “Thank you, Samar. Based upon the blood evidence left at the first scene, we were able to get an exhumation order for one Mary Eleanor Wheeler Pearcey for a DNA test. Then the damnedest thing happened. It matched. That is why I am here”.
Then Samar continues, “It appears, you have relevant data about Mary that could help us on our further efforts to apprehend her.”
“Further efforts?” Martta rolls her eyes, “You have got to be kidding me. You let her get away. Why didn’t you give me five more minutes with her? Then she wouldn’t have been a problem anymore to anyone.”
“We didn’t ‘let’ her get away. In the ambulance she used some of the dozen arrows you put in her to kill her guards and escape,” Samar rebuttals.
“It looks like I am going to have to go find her and kill her,” Martta sighs.
“You are not going anywhere. We already have one psychotic woman on the loose. We don’t need another,” Samar says.
Section 10
They question Martta for the next hour.
“Where are you from? What organization are you with?” Pierre asks her.
“I could tell you, but then I would kill everyone in the room that heard” Martta replies.
Pierre believes her.
The Chief Superintendent Samar Chambal says, “It’s getting late. Let’s get Martta in a holding cell for the night. We will begin again in the morning,” He motions for guards to come escort her.
As she is being escorted, Martta quickly subdues all four guards, even though she is shackled. She gets the keys to the shackles and starts to make for the door.
She sees the police firing bean bags at her and she doges them. The bags continue forward and strike Pierre sending him flying over a desk. Martta hops the desk after him, in the hole he has made. After surviving swarms from Hell’s enforcers and escaping Hell itself, breaking out of the police station and blending in with the crowd was almost an afterthought for Martta.
A few days later, Martta is meeting with one of her contacts. Phoung Ngo is a 33-year-old Vietnamese woman and also an arms dealer.
“So what am I setting you up with today Martta?” Phoung asked.
“I need something that can do some real damage,” Martta responds.
Phoung motions to a pile of large caliber weapons.
Martta shakes her head ‘no’, “I only want to shred her not everyone down the street as well.”
Martta sees some shotguns and walks over and starts looking through them. She eventually selects one that is a breach loading double barrel.
“Where is your workshop?” she asks Phoung.
Phoung motions in the direction and Martta goes to the shop area. Once there she put the shotgun in a vice and saws off the barrels, so they are only 12 inches long and files down the stock so it is pistol gripped.
She loads the shotgun, tests it for weight and balance and then makes adjustments until it is to her liking.
“What ammo do you have?” she asks Phoung.
“Over there,” Phoung points to several cases.
“Do you have any Glaser rounds for this?” Martta says holding up the shotgun.
“No, they never made Glaser rounds for shotguns,” Phoung tells her.
“Well I need a box of 25. I’ll pay for the special order. How much?” Martta asks.
“Sadly, I am not sure that could be worked out,” Phoung tells her.
“I’ll pay for $50,000 for a box,” Martta tells her.
Phoung’s eyebrows arch in surprise, “Let me make a few calls and see what I can work out”. 15 minutes and several calls later Phoung tells Martta, “I got a contact who can make them. They will be put on a plane within the hour and be here at noon tomorrow.”
“I am also going to need a few of these,” Martta holds up some cans of pepper spray. “See you tomorrow.”
Phoung nods “Tomorrow then”.
Section 11
Martta starts researching and analyzing Mary’s hunting patterns. After their last encounter Mary has switched to a new dynamic and it is causing the police fits. It takes a few weeks, but Martta finally figures out what Mary is doing and figures out how she is selecting victims.
The reason the police cannot put the pattern together is because of the variety of employers the victims work for. Marta has found what the victims have in common. It is not their day jobs. It is their night jobs. All the victims were Internet escorts.
Once she observes this, Martta starts to check Internet adds to find anything in common. Martta sees that Mary is using the same site. Martta checks the profiles of the murdered women and sets up her own account on the website.
Martta then starts to interview the victims’ friends, family and colleagues. She starts mapping out the routes the victims took. It still does not make sense.
Martta then goes to the victims’ homes, searching for more information. She photographs everything she finds. Reviewing the photos, Martta realizes that the victims all had 2nd phones.
Next Martta goes back and searches for the missing phones. She doesn’t find them but does find in the photos where they have written down the login and passwords for the phone tracking service.
Martta logs into first one and checks its tracking records and finds its current location. She goes to the location and is able to talk the landlord into letting her in. Once she finds the phone she uses the password and can access the information.
With this new information Martta can not only plot the rest, but she is able to see the user account Mary uses to lure these women to their deaths.
Martta goes to the Website’s physical office and is able to convince the owners to help her, after she shows them all the evidence. They want to go to the police, but Martta shows them how vulnerable the police are to Mary and convinces them to work with her.
The first thing they do is review all messages made by Mary’s account. The unprepared owners are mortified when they can now see how Mary has been using them to lure these women to their violent and horrible deaths.
They then push a secret notification to all the other potential victims warning them to stay away from Mary’s account. The next step is to set up fake accounts to communicate to Mary with.
Finally, they test the communication. They setup a date with Mary at her designated place and time. Then once they are there and see Mary, they call and cancel at the last minute. After they are able to do this three times in a row Martta knows she has Mary, but she has to be careful. If she fails this time then Mary will move somewhere else and it will take years to find her.
Section 12
“Hey sweet thing,” Alison texted.
“Honey are we finally going to do it?” Esha texted back.
“Yes, today is the day,” Alison texted.
“I can hardly wait,” Esha responded.
“I am almost there. I can see you.”
“You can, where are you?”
“Not far, I see you wore the outfit I wanted.”
“Of course, anything for you.”
“You look like my own private harem dancer. I can’t believe you wore it in public. It looks see through.”
“The only part that isn’t is the panties, except when my pussy gets wet. Then they are transparent. Right now my pussy is so wet waiting for you. When can we start? Hurry please. I want you so bad.”
“That veil hides too much of your pretty face. I want to see your beautiful lips when I do my special thing with you,” Alison texted.
“Oh, I am so eager to play with you and do all the special fun things. How soon till we start?” Esha teased.
“Right now,” Alison texts, “stand up and look behind you” Alison/Mary sent.
“This is going to be the best one yet. On the street corner cafe, in broad daylight. This city will fear me forever,” Mary thought as Esha stood up and turned to look at her and the knife in Mary’s hand.
But Esha eyes did not hold fear like Mary believed they would. Instead, she saw a grim determination and steadfastness. Mary was momentarily confused. Then Esha removed her face veil.
“Hello Mary,” Esha/Martta said after removing her face veil.
“It couldn’t be. Not her on this day. Not her. How was this psycho bitch even here? Was she stalking me? Her of all people,” Mary thought.
Then Mary tried to recover, “I don’t know who you are talking about with this ‘Mary’ person. My name is Alison,” she said with conviction.
“No, Your Name is Mary Eleanor Wheeler Pearcey,” Martta stated.
“Born in 1866 executed December 23, 1890 for murdering your husband’s mistress and her child,” Martta continued.
The revelation that this woman knew her real identity shocked Mary. But that was not the last one she was about to receive from Martta.
“But those are not even the crimes you are most famous for. Before you were caught for murdering Pheobe and her child you murdered other people. More specifically you murdered at least five prostitutes Mary Ann Nichols, Annie Chapman, Elizabeth Stride, Catherine Eddowes, and Mary Jane Kelly, between August and November of 1988 in the Whitechapel district of London, England,” Martta told her.
“But even then, the killings were not in your name. They were attributed to the name you gave yourself and to the newspapers. What do you want me to call you by? Mary, your birth name or the name you gave yourself, Jack the Ripper?” Martta revealed.
Mary’s mind was reeling. There was no way this woman could know that she was Jack the Ripper, the most famous serial killer in history. Mary’s jaw dropped in shock.
Section 13
“It’s no wonder you came here. Both London and Delhi speak the same British based English, so language wouldn’t be a problem for you,” Martta continues, “in London a murder is serious and there are all the cameras to worry about. Here in Delhi there are two murders a day and one in five murders remain unsolved. This is like a playground for you”.
“But, that’s all over for you now,” Martta looks Mary in the eyes and says, “you’re going back down to Hell where you belong”.
With that last bit Mary flies into a rage and starts attacking Martta with her knives. Mary is determined to send this psychotic annoying bitch to Hell instead.
The fighting between the two is intense. Initially it appears that Mary has the definite upper hand. However, this time Martta is prepared and ready. She is using her martial arts to minimize Mary’s attacks.
Mary’s attacks are not all stopped, but Martta does minimize them but at a cost. She is slowly losing this fight. The fight moves from the street to the old Yamuna Bridge.
The fight approaches the mid span of the bridge over the river. That is when Martta’s demeanor changes. It goes from one of defeat and retreat to one of confidence and victory.
Mary pauses for a moment and looks around, she can tell something is wrong. There is no one else on the bridge. She looks at Martta in a panic.
“I was wondering how long it was going to take you to notice. I arranged for us to be alone. Don’t bother to look to the police to help you. They have had enough of you and are leaving you to me,” Martta tells her as she reaches behind one of the girders and gets out a spray can.
Martta tells her, “I have finally figured out what the problem with sending the escapees back to Hell is. It’s how our bodies were formed when we got her.”
Mary’s eyes narrow with concern at the ‘we got here’ part.
“We literally use mind over matter to make our bodies. In order to upkeep our bodies, we portion a little of our subconscious to maintain them. It is why the injuries don’t kill us. In order to send you back, I have to break the link, like this.”
Martta then spray’s the pepper spray into Mary’s face, causing Mary breathing problems and stinging pain.
Martta then takes the shotgun from where she had hidden it and says, “And now I can do this”.
Her first shot is to Mary’s pelvis, then she shoots Mary’s major joints and finally her breasts and chest cavity.
“You’re a damn Revenant,” Mary accused Martta.
“I am not one of those worthless things,” Martta retorts.
“Then what are you? Who are you?” Mary asks.
“I came her on my own to send you all back,” Martta replies.
Martta tells her, “Where you’re going, they know me,” then waves bye-bye to Mary as she shoots Mary in the face making her head explode.
Section 14
The size 12 shot pellets in the Glaser safety slugs just disintegrate Mary’s body. By the time Martta is done with the full box of rounds, the only way they are going to be able to clean up Mary’s body is with a squeegee and a mop.
After she is done, Martta sits down with her back resting against one of the bridge beams. She is just resting for a little before the next part.
After a few minutes of rest, Martta hears the noise of the police carefully and slowly coming towards her. She looks to the south to see Samar along with Pierre getting closer. They have cautious looks on their faces.
Pierre says, “Martta, we are going to need you to put the gun down and come with us. You have a lot to answer for.”
Martta looks at them both. They are still 30 feet away from her. She Puts one hand against the beam and rises to her feet slowly. The others police officers are nervous about what she is going to do.
Martta looks down at the shotgun in her hand, shrugs and then tosses it towards them so it slides along the ground and comes to rest at Samar’s feet. She can see the relief in their faces and the rest of the police relax. They know they don’t have to fight her.
“It’s all right. Come with us miss,” Samar says, “We owe you a great deal. We will see to it that you get the compassionate treatment you deserve.”
Martta gives him an acknowledging nod of her head. Then, as they approach closer, she slowly shakes her head in regret and holds up a hand to have them stop.
“Damn this next part is going to hurt so much,” she tells them.
They stop with looks of confusion on their faces.
Then Martta does it. She concentrates and lets all of her the soul tattoos appear around her. The different colors and layers appear to surround her like a cocoon. Then she says Mary’s full name aloud and begins the chant to release the part of Mary's soul buried in hers.
The pain of removing the soul tattoo is worse than when she embedded it. Martta screams as Mary’s tattoo rips through her soul and goes above her and dissipates. When it is done, she wills the other tattoos to be hidden again. The officers look at her, not knowing how to process what they just watched.
Martta looks at them and says, “Gentleman, I am afraid I am going to have to decline your companionship. As you can see, I have so many other people to go see to,” Then she blows Pierre a kiss, leaps over the railing, plunging into the river below disappearing into it.
Martta climbs onto shore several miles upriver. She puts on the clothes she has stashed and then blends into the crowd. She mutters to herself, “One down so many more to go.”
Section 15
It takes the crime scene technicians almost 2 days to catalog all the evidence and clean up Mary’s remains from the bridge. On the remains, the police find evidence pointing to where Mary had been living. In Mary’s apartment, they find the keys and address to her shrine. When they get to the shrine, they find the various knives she used on her victims. It takes a month to process all the items and get the DNA results.
Chief Superintendent Samar Chambal and Pierre are in a meeting to discuss the evidence. Samar says to Pierre, “The final reports let us solve over 450 murders committed over the course of 20 years. It is unbelievable that one woman could do so much. What do you think about the transcripts of the surveillance?”
Pierre shrugs his shoulders and says, “You mean about Mary being Jack The Ripper. The forensics indicates that she was. It is hard to believe but I just don’t know how it is possible. I have several questions. Was Mary really Jack? Even if she wasn’t, she was executed almost 150 years ago. How are the remains we have the same as the remains in her grave? We have her body as proof. What happened to cause this? Is Mary the only one or like Martta indicated are there more? And finally who and what is Martta and what is her end game?” they both sat there in silence contemplation, until there was a knock on the door.
“Sirs you have a guest,” the female secretary said as she led another female in.
The new person addressed them, “Hello I am Laaiqa al-Quardi. I am a special investigator for the United Nations Commission on Science and Technology for Development. I understand you have something you want us to look into.”
The two fill Laaiqa in on what happened. They end up down in the morgue with Mary’s body.
“So as you can see we have quite a few questions. It seems Mary’s body also presents another interesting concern. The medical examiner tells us that it is decomposing at three times the regular rate even in the freezer,” Pierre tells her.
“If you can give me copies of all your evidence and allow us to take some samples we will look into this with our resources,” Laaiqa says, “If you gentlemen will excuse me, I have a good many calls to make to get the process going.”
They let her go, and she leaves to start making phone calls. She is making calls for hours and eventually the staff stops paying attention to her.
When she observes that they are not listening to her, she takes out a second phone and makes a call. “This is Laaiqa. I have reviewed all their evidence. It looks like someone sent an escapee back. I don’t know if this exposes the other escapees. It is best to run a level one security sweep on Hamad just to be safe”.
Section 16
Jingtal, the bureaucrat over the Martta task force in Hell, is conducting his weekly briefing, “What are we missing?” he asks the board members.
“How is it we have not located Martta and put her back on the table?”
Narak, the bureaucrat over the enforcers, says, “We have conducted searches again. This time we have gone house to house, room to room. We have checked all the locations for any hidden areas and searched them too. I admit, we are little backlogged because we have to prosecute what we find, and we are finding a lot of hidden evidence of other crimes”.
Frelant, the bureaucrat over the demolition department, shares, “We are destroying areas as we speak. Each area is being carefully demolished. Any items removed are continually scanned and searched before destruction.”
Qudchan, the bureaucrat over new construction, shares, “Any new building is carefully warded against not only Martta, but also wards are put in place to check every unauthorized entity trying to enter or leave. The new wards also constantly check all identities and sound alarms at any breaches”.
Yiahu, the new bureaucrat over the newly created quality division, tells the rest, “My people are catching violators and having the work redone. But it is taking time for all this. We are all being thorough and careful with the new standards.”
“And yet, after all this, we are still unable to locate her. We are literally rebuilding Hell itself, and we still cannot find this one person. Why are all of our combined resources unable to do this?” Jingtal is now almost screaming when he talks.
There is a knock on the door and Icojib, the bureaucrat over the escapee records department enters. He hands Jingtal a form and says, “Sign this”.
Jingtal looks at the form. It is a permanent authorization to build a new series of luxury residences for all the records clerks. It would give them some of the most luxurious homes for worker of their ranks.
“Why would I want to sign this?” he demands.
“Because if you don’t I won't tell you the information that my staff has brought to my attention,” Icojib says.
“What information?” Jingtal demands.
“Sign the form or you don’t find out,” Icojib holds his ground.
Jingtal angrily signs the forms, “What is the information? It better be worth it”
“One of the escapees was just returned, but not by a Revenant. After analyzing her soul, we found a part of it had been duplicated and force merged with another soul for a few years. We reviewed that duplicate soul portion and did an analysis and found it had just made its way here from Earth,” Icojib tells him.
“We then did further analysis on the residue of the soul and found portions of the soul it was encased in. After reviewing the records of all souls, we found out whose soul she was encased in. It was Martta’s,” Icojib continues, “to sum it up; you're looking in the wrong place for Martta. She is on Earth.”
Icojib looks around the room to see the shock on all the faces, “Good hunting gentleman,” and leaves.
Finally, it is Yiahu who says the words, “No wonder we couldn’t find her.”
Qudchan asks, “So, do we stop what we are doing, now that we know?”
“No,” Jingtal replies, “we continue rebuilding Hell. We tell no one. Keep a lid on this. Let's use Martta as an excuse to fix Hell and make sure this can never happen again. We will just focus other assets now that we know where she is. We can find her on Earth and quietly bring her back.”
“What assets are we going to use?” Narak asks.
“We will, of course, release a Revenant whose only task will be to find her,” Jingtal says, “but this task force has been given unconditional authorization and authority to do anything we need to put her back on the table. Towards that end I am going to authorize the use of a Lich.”
Frelant stands up and in objection says, “But Lichs are the supreme hunter and assassins for Hell. They are only used in the war on Heaven. Their use is bound by the Grand Compact to only be used to eliminate gods and dominions only. We only have 100 of them. They are stored away because they are unstable and difficult to control unless they are on the battlefield.”
Jingtal replies, “I am aware of the Grand Compact rules regarding the use of the Lichs. It does not say they can be used against only gods and dominions. It says that they can only be used against gods and dominion level threats. In her own way, Martta has become a god amongst the people of Hell. She has done more damage to the structure and running of Hell than any god. The Grand Compact will not be able to oppose this as long as we stay in certain guidelines.”
“It makes no sense to not use every resource we have available. Also, the Lichs have been in storage for over 10 eons. It’s time we got some use out of them,” Jingtal continues, “I want that bitch Martta back on her table.”
Section 17
It has been one month since Martta killed Mary. Samar is visiting Devika again to keep her up to date as he promised her.
“Any word yet on Martta?” Devika asks.
“No, no word. I don’t think we will be hearing from her again,” he says.
“But you think she survived?” she inquires.
“She survived being hit by an SUV and came back. So yes, I think, after a little more time, the news will lose interest and move on to other stories. In time people will forget about Martta,” Samar tells Devika.
“Did you ever find out who she was? What she is doing or who she is with?”
“No. When we went through her things there was no indication of who she was working for. The interesting thing is she somehow remotely accessed her hard drives when we were copying them and sent herself the data to a dead site. We have sent Pierre all the data we have. It appears she is trying to hunt others, but the parameters and criteria have us confused. I do not think you will be seeing Martta again. As long as this dies down in the media, then we will not proceed any further and close the case. It has become too political and asks too many questions we do not want to have to answer,” Samar responds.
“If your investigation is going to be closed, can we please have Martta’s things sent to us? We will keep them for her for if she ever needs them,” Devika implores.
“Of course. I will have them brought to you,” Samar says as he leaves.
A week later, an article appeared in Al-Jazeera “The people of Delhi last month had a reign of terror come to an end. The attacker was found and killed, putting an end to her reign of terror. This woman killed and mutilated over 450 victims over the course of 20 years. She also killed over 20 police officers, before she was killed in a final standoff with the police.”
“But, the end of this woman called ‘Mary’ raises more questions than it answered. The first is ‘who was Mary?’ Information obtained by confidential informants in the police department indicates that police believe this ‘Mary’ was actually a woman named Mary Eleanor Wheeler Pearcey who was executed on December 23, 1890 in London. How is it possible that someone executed in London over 100 years ago was alive today Delhi? The next question is ‘was this woman really Jack The Ripper’ as police evidence indicates?” the blog continues.
“But, this is not the end it appears. Mary was not stopped by police but evidence shows she was stopped by another woman who goes by the name of ‘Martta’. Who is Martta? Who does she work for and what is she? I will look further into these questions and keep you readers up to date. Enclosed are the video links that show all of Mary’s and Martta’s encounters,” signed Sarila Polat.
