Chapter 4 - nun
Section 01

“Flight 1789, from Dallas, now arriving in San Antonio,” came over the speaker, “Thank you for flying Southwest Airlines.”
Martta got her carry-on bags then left the plane. She went to the baggage area and got her luggage. From there, she went to the counter and asked for the directions to the car rental area. Once at the car rental, she got her car and drove to her hotel and checked in.
Over the next few days, Martta swung by an office supply store and purchased some items she would need. She bought a printer, a paper shredder, about 20 toner cartridges, chart paper and markers. She would need to verify the escapee was around here by checking all the data, before she sought her out.
The two weeks in the tropics had seen her well rested from the injuries caused by the escapee she had just sent down. She still couldn’t believe that last one. Who the hell keeps a flame thrower in their bedroom? That made four escapees in just over a month. She was finally making progress.
Now it is time to find the next one and send her back.

Jingtal looked at the locks on the vault.

The final ritual had at last been accomplished successfully. It was now time for the Lich to do its part and accept the assignment. This was always the tricky part, because it was beyond the control of any bureaucrat.
The pact allowed for the Lich to only accept the assignments it wanted. This was why the use of a Lich was always difficult. The cost to ask was high and the Lich could always say no.
The biggest point of confusion is that they never knew what Lich they were going to get. They all had common ability but some could be more intricate in their costs. Some would do their job quickly and directly. Others would take their time and be intricate in their plans.
With the final incantation done there was only one thing to do, wait. Jingtal knew that this request would take a long time. He knew the Lichs would have to consult the grand compact and deliberate before any would respond. This was a request that had never been done before. He could only hope that one would take it.
Two weeks after the last rite had been finished, the door to the vault started to have the exit codes appear. Per the procedure, he finished the instructions on his side. After a day, the vault door finally opened.
Now only one of two things would happen. Either a Lich would walk out and begin its work or it would grab him and take him into the vault never to be seen again.
Much to Jingtal’s relief a Lich stepped forward and said its name.
“Kristov.”
Jingtal responded in kind, “Jingtal”.
“Target?” Kristov asked.
Jingtal held up part of Martta soul from the archive.
Kristov studied the soul and then launched.
Section 02

In the morning, Martta got ready for the day and had breakfast. Once this was done she went down to the lobby and talked to the hotel manager. She informed the manager she wanted no one entering the room, until the end of the week. She explained, she was conducting sensitive research and wanted none of it disturbed.
Afterwards, Martta went back up to the room and started to print out her research. As she printed it, she marked and filed it accordingly. She hung it up on the various cork boards she had hung around the room. It took her almost the full day to print it out and organize.
This escapee was tricky. She had two major victim types. The first was that men who were being killed and having their faces cut off. The second was the people killed the same way but still had their faces.
Martta research revealed that the ones with their faces removed were very rare. The last one had been done only two weeks ago. Before then, it had been six months. The common thing that she found amongst all victim type one is that they were all step dads, who were physically abusive and had raped their step daughters. She found each of these men had been beaten to death by a sole assailant, who knew how to fight.
The second victim type was the paid for victim. These were victims that had been killed for various reasons, but they had all been professionally killed. These victims were also killed by physical beating in a manner similar to victims in group one. There were two major differences. One, the victims in group two were beaten by two assailants and not one. The other was that these victims were not of the first victim type.
These differences caused the police to believe that the two groups of victims were not related. Martta’s research had shown otherwise.
Martta had examined the medical examiners reports and recognized one simple thing. The injuries in victims type two were similar to those on victim type one. The difference was that victim two types had an additional assailant. This meant that the victims in group one were of a personal meaning because the assailant kept them to them self. The victims of group two were not of personal meaning, so the assailant shared them with someone else.
If the second group wasn’t personal then it had to be for a different reason. The victims on the second group could be classified into different subgroups.
It didn’t make sense that the assailants had a different motivation to kill each subgroup. Since the subgroups were targeted by the same assailants, but the same assailants didn’t kill people at random then it meant the killing was controlled for a reason. Martta concluded there was only one reason to kill such a variety of subgroups.
Someone was paying the assailants to kill the selected victims.
Section 03

From the types of injuries sustained, Martta was able to conclude that the assailant had to have had at least some basic military or martial arts training. Also, the consistency of the wounds showed that the assailant had to practice at least occasionally. Third, the non-hesitation of the wounds showed that assailant had to make these wounds, to a lesser degree, on a regular basis.
There were only three ways to meet all the above. The first way was to be at a martial arts school. The mentor over the school would have noticed the psychological problems of a student able to do this and would have noticed the extra bruises on the student. As the police had no suspect, this could be ruled out.
The second way was a legitimate fight group. However, any fighter’s manger or coach would notice the same and since the police had no suspects then this option was eliminated.
That left option three, underground fighting. With the coming and going and secrecy of the underground fights, no one would raise an alarm if a fighter had too many bruises or injuries. They would just figure the fighter got them at another fight.
Martta started researching the underground fights. She started to make the rounds and taking license plates and covertly taking photos of everyone there. She then started eliminating suspects and building a suspect pool.
After the third night going to different events, Martta noticed a man following her in a pickup truck. She decided to see if he was really following her by doing innocent maneuvers that would eliminate someone who wasn’t following her. Halfway through the different maneuvers, the man in the pickup caught on to what she was doing. This was made abundantly clear when he turned on his police lights. Martta pulled over and waited.
The man approached on the passenger side and got in.
“I think we need to talk,” he said.
“How can I help you officer?” Martta asked.
“You can cut the coy act. I think we may be working on the same thing. We may as well work together, since you are the only other investigator I have seen looking in the same places I am,” he said.
“I could probably use some of your resources and you could probably use some of my insight into the assailants, the one I am looking for in particular,” she told him.
“Pardon my manners miss. I am Mathew Delgado I am with the Texas rangers,” Mathew said.
“I am freelancer with a multi-jurisdictional fugitive retrieval operation,” Martta told him, “I go by Martta.”
“Why don’t you come by my office tomorrow, so we can compare notes,” He hands her his Business card with an access code on the back.
“I have a room full of stuff,” she says.
“That’s OK. We can find you a small space to work out of. No need to work out of your hotel room anymore,” he tells her, with a panties melting smile.
Section 04

The next morning, Martta called the front desk to ask about renting a van. The manager informed her that Texas rangers had a van waiting for her. She had the rangers come up, put her research in the van and then followed them in her own car.
When they reached the main building, Mathew was waiting at the main entrance for her.
“How long do you think it will be till you can give us a briefing?” he asked.
“Give me two hours,” she said.
Two hours later, Mathew knocked on her door, and she let him in. He had a team of other rangers with him.
“Gentlemen, this is Martta she is going to be working with us on this. She has some insights that I think will help,” he turns to Martta and says, “go ahead miss.”
Martta then goes through the reports she has and shares the observations about the victims and the groups. She then tells them the procedures she used to build the assailants profile. Most of the group showed interest but one ranger, Tyler, acted arrogant and said, “we have already worked this out and are already narrowing down our suspect. We will eventually find him.”
“Her,” Martta says.
“Excuse me,” Tyler replied.
“The assailant is a female. Your research says to look for an emaciated male, but if you look at the fracture patterns in the reports you will see these are not caused by a reduced strength. They are caused by a lack of strength. Your suspect is a female impersonating a male.”
The rangers have a surprised look on their faces, like this suddenly made sense.
“Furthermore, if you look at the primary group of victims you will see abnormal rage in the injuries and the postmortem mutilation. These all point to a female assailant,” Martta shares.
Mathew chimes in, “All this time we were eliminating male suspects when we should have been looking for a female. But then you knew this didn’t you Martta. Just like you know who our suspect is, don’t you?” the rangers look accusingly at Martta.
“Yes, I do know who she is. But that won’t help you. All the fugitives I am looking for have had years and years of a head start, resources and have had cosmetic changes as well as time to establish false identities. I have to track them by their behavior patterns not their looks,” She replied.
“I could tell you her real name, but you wouldn’t believe me. I have done this with others investigators. They never do believe any of my fugitive’s identities. So we will just call her by her first name, Catalina. I can tell you that Catalina is former military, from a foreign government.”
“We do know that she likes to duel males and beat them at their own game,” she concludes, “a lot of the times, the duels are caused over her sexual relationships with other females belong to said males.”
Section 05

“So then we are looking for a lesbian out to prove something?” Tyler asks.

“No,” Martta says, “this person is interested in their own pleasure. She is willing to share the bed as she needs. But her preference is definitely for females. So she is probably going to be in a bisexual relationship with her lover. They probably won’t be far apart, so we are probably looking for a couple of females that are in a relationship with each other.”
“All right let’s get the tech boys on this, do you mind if they take this and scan it in?” Mathew asks Martta.
“I am done with it,” she replies and gestures for them to take it away.
Over the next few days, the center was a flurry of activity. With the new parameters they were able to quickly start narrowing down leads. While there were many female fighters, not very many were willing to go against male fighters in the ring. Even fewer male fighters were willing to engage females in the ring.
By the middle of the next week, they had narrowed it down to less than 100 suspects. By that Thursday Mathew came to her office.
“We have good news. We think we know who they are. Come on to the main room,” he tells her, as he takes her to the main room.
In the main room, Mathew begins, “It looks like we are dealing with a mother daughter team. The mother is 35 year old Carol Ann Pellman. The daughter is 16 year old Katie Shauna Pellman. It looks like mom has been avenging her daughter through surrogates from Katie’s friends on face book. This explains why Carol is so vindictive against the victims in group one. She perceives them to be abusing and raping her own daughter Katie.”
Mathew continues, “It also looks like mom has involved Katie in the murder for higher scam. There are no birth records on Katie, so we think she may have been a runaway that Carol adopted. Either way, we need to be careful of Katie because she is a minor and is under Carol’s control.”
Mathew looks at the squad, “We roll in 15 minutes.”
“I am going to check a few other things,” Martta says.
“Don’t you want to be there when we take her down?” Mathew asks.
“It doesn’t matter to me who takes her down or who gets the credit. I just care that she gets put down,” Martta replies.
The rangers nod to Martta and Tyler tells her, “We’ll bring her back so you can personally slam the cell door shut on her.”
“Just be very careful. She is very dangerous up close. I would Taser the bitch about 20 times, just to be safe,” Martta says.
The rangers wince at that remark and subconsciously remind themselves to never piss Martta off.
The rangers leave, but they don’t know they are too late.
Section 06

After the rangers leave, Martta starts looking at the surveillance video and sees a meeting between Carol and a man in a restaurant. She has the tech run his ID, his plates and give her his data. She then searches court records and finds what she is looking for. He is going through an ugly contested divorce with his ex-wife Luana.

Martta realizes the man has hired Carol to kill his ex-wife Luana. Martta is able to get Luana’s information and location via the low jack in her car. She realizes where Carol and Katie are going next. She gets Luana’s home address and leaves.
On the way to the Luana’s home, Martta calls a martial art shop nearest the Luana’s house and placed an order to be ready when she arrives. Once there she picks up the sharpened weapons and proceeds on.
Martta arrives and kicks in the front door. She sees both Carol and Katie beating the poor Luana and says, “Is this a private party or can anyone join?”
They both stop what they are doing and stare at her in disbelief at her gall.
“Big mistake, you have no idea who you are dealing with,” Carol says.
“Oh I know exactly who I am dealing with Catalina,” Martta replies.
She sees the surprise in both of their eyes, “What do you mean?” Carol responds.
“I mean you Carol Ann Pellman or should I call you by your real name, Sister Catalina de Erazu?” Martta retorts.
There is a look of disbelief and shock in both Carol and Katie’s eyes but Martta can’t place what else.
“Who do you think she is?” Katie replied defiantly.
“I don’t think. I know who she is. She is Sister Catalina de Erazu born to Captain Miguel de Erauso and Maria Pérez de Arce Gallarraga in the city of San Sebastian in 1585. You were raised in a convent from the age of four to the age of 15. On the night of March 18, 1600 you fled the convent. During the next 3 years you lived by various names - Pedro de Orive, Francisco de Loyola, Alonso Diaz Ramirez de Guzman and Antonio de Erauso.”
“In 1603, you came to America. During your time in America, you became involved in many duels with men. In one of them you cut the man’s face off. During this time you would use the sanctity of the church to hide from prosecution. Then you eventually led an army of 1600 men in the conquest of Chile. Your acts against the local Indian population prevented you from being promoted past the rank of lieutenant,” Martta continued.
“Eventually you made your way to Rome, where you appealed to the pope, who gave you a special dispensation to wear men’s clothing. You eventually made your way back to New Spain, where you lived the rest of your life,” She concluded.
“And you believe my mom is this person?” Katie said disbelieving.
Section 07

“I have news for you lady. I am not who you think I am,” Carol tells Martta.
“Oh I am sure it’s you,” Martta replies.
“I think you are confused. Seriously you are accusing my mom of being some 500 year old warrior. You are way off, your rocker and your medications,” Katie responds.
“I think it’s time for you to leave, if you don’t want to get hurt,” Carol threatens her.
“Please don’t leave. They are trying to kill me. Help me,” Luana begs Martta.
“Don’t worry they are not going to kill you,” Martta tells her.
“Well you are mostly correct. We are not going to kill ‘just’ her,” Carol says.
“Yeah, no witness,” Katie says with blood-lust in her eyes.
The two of them start advancing towards Martta.
“Let’s do this,” Martta says.
As the two get closer, Martta puts a throwing knife in each of Carol’s knees.
Carol screams in pain and stops walking towards Martta.
“What the?” Katie exclaims in surprise.
“Yeah, this is not going to be a good day for you,” Martta tells Katie.
Martta then takes her left hand from behind her back and reveals the 48” Japanese naganita pole arm. She then swings the blunt end and hits Katie in the head with it, stunning Katie and knocking her to the ground.
Martta then uses the rest of the dozen throwing knifes on Carol. Once this is done, Martta make several strikes with the blade end of the naganita and after a few times ends up cutting Carol’s head off.
At seeing this, Luana screams in shock and horror and passes out.
Katie sees what happened to Carol and screams in frustration.
Katie tries to attack Martta in a blind rage. Martta with minimal effort swings the blunt end of the naganita and knocks Katie in the head again causing Katie to collapse to the ground.
Martta goes to the victim and helps her to her feet, “Go get outside and wait for the police they will be along any time now.”
Martta sends Luana towards the front door. Once this is done Martta starts to get ready for the next part.
Martta looks down at Carol’s lifeless body. “It’s time,” she thought.
Martta drops the naganita to the floor. She then starts to concentrate and lets the soul tattoos appear. She mutters Catalina’s name and begins the chant to release the part of carol’s soul she has trapped.
Catalina’s soul rips itself free from Martta’s soul. Once again Martta screams from the excruciating pain as her soul is ripped open by Catalina’s soul freeing itself. Catalina’s soul finally breaks free and forms a mist above Martta.
Martta sinks to her knees thinking it is over, when all of a sudden her soul reaches up and grabs the pieces of Catalina’s soul and takes them back enclosing it again. She re-experiences the pain again as the soul tattooing process happens all over again.
Something is not right.
Section 08

“Why isn’t this working?” Martta is thinking in desperation and confusion, “Catalina is definitely dead. Her head is over on the other side of the room”.
Martta does the ritual again with the same results. Martta is laying there in pain when a new physical pain hit her.
Katie has recovered and has just stabbed Martta in the side with the naganita. While doing so the wooden shaft broke off because it was a cheap made knock off. After this happens, Katie starts hitting Martta with the staff using it like a club. In desperation Martta grabs one of the knives out of Carol’s body and stabs Katie in the calf causing Katie to drop the staff in pain.
Martta takes the opportunity to grab a few more knives from Carol’s body. She then flips them into Katie’s shoulders to slow her down. Once Katie is on the ground, Martta takes the blade from the pole arm out of her side. She then takes her shirt off and puts it in the wound to slow the bleeding down.
Martta slowly gets to her feet and starts to make her way to her car.
“Shit, I have to get out of here. I am in no shape to deal with others,” She thought. She makes it to her car and drives away.
Once Martta was gone, Katie manages to limp over to Luana. Luana looks at Katie in fear. That’s when Katie pulls out one of the knives from her shoulder and slits Luana’s throat. After she watches Luana die, Katie makes her way to the front door and waits for the police.
15 minutes later the first police car arrives. When they get there, they see Katie’s passed out from blood loss at the entrance to the home. They call for an ambulance after seeing her and go into the house. They see the scene and clear it, then secure the scene for the detectives that were called in.
The paramedics are able to revive Katie and stabilize her. Once she is awake, the first officer comes over and asks her what happened.
“Oh my god, help me. That woman was crazy. She came in and killed my mom and our friend Luana. Get me out of here. Protect me. She might come back,” Katie says with a fearful tone.
The police seeing a young 16-year old lady who has two knives sticking out of her and covered in blood try to inquire more, “It’s all right. We are here now. You are going to be safe. We will protect you. Tell us who did this. Do you know who she was?” they ask.
Katie gives a description of Martta and her vehicle to the police.
The police issue an immediate all-points bulletin for Martta and warn that she is armed and dangerous.
25 minutes later, Mathew and his ranger team show up at the crime scene and try to find out what happened.

Section 09

Mathew Identifies himself to the lead detective, “Delgado Texas rangers. What’s the situation?”

“Detective Martinson, homicide. It looks like we had an assailant break into this home and killed two women and got away. We have an APB out for her,” the detective asks “what brings the rangers to my crime scene so quickly?”
Mathew replies, “We are pursuing a kill for hire team and it brought here to your victims home.”
“Team?” the detective asks, “It looks like the other assailant got away but don’t worry we have an APB on her. We’ll catch her.”
The detective sees the look of concern on Mathew’s face and asks, “How can I help you Mathew?”
Mathew replies, “We are working with a woman, and we thought she might have gotten here first. I am concerned for her safety.”
“Oh don’t worry about that Mathew. We have her in an ambulance. She is on the way to the hospital. I am kind of curious why you were working with a teenager?” he states.
“Teenager? No, the woman we are working with is in her mid 30S,” he tells the detective and describes Martta.
“That’s our suspect for the APB,” the detective shares.
“This teenager is she?” Mathew then describes Katie.
“Yeah, that's her alright. Why?” Martinson asks, now in a confused tone.
“That’s not Martta, it’s the second assailant. It was a mother daughter kill team.” Mathew tells him.
The detective gets on his radio and calls in a hold request on Katie.
When the ambulance crew does not respond, a police car is dispatched to their current location. When it gets there, they radio back to the detective. “Detective Martinson, we found the ambulance. All the paramedics are dead. Their throats were slit.”
Detective Martinson looks at Mathew and says, “What have you got me into the middle of ranger?”
Mathew fills him in.
Three days later Martta has healed the wound. In her mind, she keeps going over the events and cannot figure out why it didn’t work. She is out of ideas and realizes there is only one thing left to do.
Mathew is sitting in his office when he gets a call.
“Hello Mathew. Sorry about the mess, but I am afraid I am in a fix and could use your help” Martta says.
“We aren’t doing anything until you tell me where you are, so I can bring you in. You have a lot to answer for,” he says.
Martta pauses thoughtfully on the other end of the phone, “OK.”
“Let me know where you are. I will have a car come pick you up. There is an APB out for you,” he tells her.
Martta giggles over the phone then says, “I don’t think a car will be able to pick me up”
“Tell me where are you I’ll send someone to come get you,” he says with conviction.
“Right here,” Martta says as she taps on his office window. She is on his terrace.
Section 10

Mathew is just staring in disbelief at Martta.

He calls out to the hall, “Tyler, it looks like we can call off the APB on Martta.”
Tyler comes into the office and says, “But we haven’t found her yet and the trace hasn’t had enough time to locate her.”
Mathew points to the terrace as Martta waves to Tyler.
“But we’re seven floors up, how did she get out there,” Tyler says in astonishment.
“Are you going to keep a lady waiting?” Martta teases on the phone.
Mathew gets up and lets her in.
Tyler asks, “Why didn’t you use a gun instead of the knives?”
“I couldn’t get one in that short of a time. I don’t have a Texas ID,” Martta replies.
“You know were going to have to ask you a few questions and maybe hold onto you for a little bit,” Mathew tells her.
Martta hands him her phone and says, “What’s for dinner?”
A few hours later they have compared notes. Mathew reveals that the skin samples from Carol’s knuckles prove she was in the midst of beating Luana when Martta stopped them.
It is during one discussion that Martta lets slip, “It’s too bad Carol’s body won’t help us with any clues. It is too badly decomposed.”
“What do you mean? It’s in the morgue downstairs,” Mathew replies.
“That’s not possible, it should be decomposed by now,” Martta says.
Mathew and Tyler look at each other confused.
“Wait a minute you still have an intact body? Show me,” Martta implores.
They take her to see the body.
“It’s just regular decomposition,” she says, “but that can’t be unless. Oh shit! Damn it how did I miss that?” Martta says.
“What?” Mathew asks.
“Catalina is Spanish for Catherine and another name for Catherine is?” Martta leaves it hanging.
“Katie,” Tyler says.
“Right couple, wrong person in charge,” Martta shakes her head.
Finally, Mathew asks Martta, “Any idea where Katie could be hiding?”
“Previously she would seek sanctuary in a church until things calmed down,” Martta replied.
They hold onto Martta for a few more days, while they continue the search for Katie but with no results.
Detective Martinson shows up and tells Mathew, “You can go ahead and let Martta out. We just found another one without a face. It’s only a day old.”
He looks at Martta and says, “My regrets ma’am. I just wish you could have gotten the right one on the first try. Then I wouldn’t have another body to clean up.”
Martinson looks at Mathew shaking his head, “She couldn’t get a gun in Texas. Mathew you have to fix this. We are shamed as a state,” and walks away.
They let Martta out.
“I’ll be at my hotel,” She tells them, “your hospitality was nice, But, I could use a shower and a long hot bath,” She turns and tells them, “shall we pick up again tomorrow about noon?”
“Yes ma’am,” Mathew replies as he escorts her out.

Section 11

That night after dinner, Martta is soaking in the bathtub in her hotel suite. Martta picks up the phone and places a call to India to one of her contacts Nitya Basu.
Nitya Basu is a successful chemical engineer, who has a side business making chemicals and drugs for specialty orders. She won’t make street drugs, but for the right price she will make any other drug or chemical item you need and get it to you.
“Hey Nitya, I am going to need a special order from you,” Martta tells her.
“What do you need and I’ll let you know the price,” Nitya tells Martta.
“I am going to need an aerosol dispersal grenade like a tear gas grenade. But I need it to use thioacetone instead,” Martta tells her
“Are you insane? What do you need one of those for? That stuff is the foulest smelling substance ever made. They had to evacuate Freiburg in 1889 because of it. The smell causes violet vomiting, nausea and even unconsciousness,” Nitya remarks
Martta pauses for a bit and says, “$100,000 US EFT to your bank account. I need it in Dallas in three days.”
Nitya thinks a little, but the cost of her brother’s medical bills causes her to agree, “Dallas in 3 days. Anything else?”
Martta replies, “Yes, I will need a few stun grenades, half a dozen tear gas grenades, about a dozen smoke grenades, a good a gas mask and a strong wire garrote. I’ll add $25,000 when you get here. Get here in two days, and we’ll spend a night together having fun,” Martta teases.
“Two days it is then,” Nitya responds.
Two days later, Martta enters Mathew’s office. The team is there, but there is a new person there as well. “Hello Martta this is Tony. He’s an international reporter that sometimes helps us with cases. I brought him here because I thought he could help us brainstorm.”
“Hello Martta, nice to meet you,” Tony said sticking his hand out to shake hers.
Martta was reaching out to shake Tony’s hand when she saw the tattoo on his inner forearm. Two things stood out. The first was the tattoo was in demonic script. The second was that tattoo was Catalina’s name. Martta checked her memory and recognized this man as the Revenant responsible for sending Catalina back. In an instant her demeanor changed and instead of shaking his hand she punched him in the face, knocking him to the floor.
“You piece of shit!” she yelled at him, while kicking him in the ribs. It took four of the rangers to peel her off him while Mathew helped Tony out of the room.
Mathew asked Tony, “What the hell did you do to her?”
Tony replied, “I have never seen her before in my life. Seriously.”
Mathew says to Tony “I think you and Martta may not be such a good idea after all,” and he helps Tony out of the building and on his way.
Section 12

“Well that didn’t go as well as I had hopped,” Mathew said to Martta, after he got back from escorting Tony out, “care to tell me what that was all about?”
“Nope,” Martta said sternly, “If you want to know ask him.”
Mathew shrugs, “OK.”
The team continues its search for the next few hours. They have had police go to every church in a 100-mile radius and had no luck finding Katie.
The team is sitting in a brainstorming session when Martta asks, “Hey Tyler, do you have any kids?”
“Yeah, a teenage daughter,” he replies.
“Where does she go to hide when she is in trouble?” Martta asks.
“Her friends, my sisters,” Tyler says.
“Where would a teenager go if she had no family or friends? Where would she feel absolutely safe?” Martta asks
It is Mathew who comes up with the answer, “School, they will feel safe in an empty school and if someone is looking for a delinquent, the last place they will look is in school.”
“Plus schools have security. So any stalker wouldn’t be able to go on school property,” Tyler adds.
They start having the police check the public high schools, charter schools and private schools. By the end of the day, they have their answer. Katie is at a private school near Dallas.
The team makes the plan for Katie’s apprehension for the next day. The following morning the team gets together in the conference room. They have advised the school administrators and will have the school emptied into the sports field. The students will be told it is a random drug sweep.
The evacuation is going fine until Katie gets outside and sees all the police. She realizes they are there for her and decides to fight.
Katie reaches into her backpack, pulls out a Glock 19 machine pistol and starts shooting the police. Katie then hides behind a tree for cover, trying to reload.
There is a momentary lull in the combat while everyone is waiting to see what will happen next.
Martta yells, “Sister Catalina De Erazu”.
Katie in anger shoots a full clip in Martta’s direction.
Martta, in response, throws a flash bang stun grenade that lands at Katie’s feet. When it goes off, the bright flash blinds Katie and the high decibel sounds deafen her. In pain and shock, Katie drops the gun.
In the meantime, Martta has put on her gas mask and has thrown the thioacetone grenade at Katie. When it lands and opens up, the thioacetone causes such a stench that everyone within 20 yards not wearing a gas mask is vomiting uncontrollably.
Martta walks up to Katie, who is on her hands and knees vomiting, and slips the garrote around Katie’s neck, “You’re going back down to Hell now, bitch,” Martta says as she then puts one foot on Katie’s chest for leverage and violently pulls on both ends of the garrote, cutting through Katie’s neck down to the spine.
Section 13

Mathew and Tyler start to approach Martta cautiously. As she hears their footsteps, Martta lets go of the garrote. Katie’s lifeless body flops to the ground.

The other police are still trying to herd the students to safety.
“Martta, what have you done?” Mathew asks in shock.
“What needed to be done. Ask that worthless shithead over there,” Martta says, as she points to Tony who has arrived.
Tony tries to play innocent, “I have no idea what this crazy bitch is talking about,” he lies.
Martta looks at him and says, “I bet you think I just did your job for you. That you just got your second chance,” she accuses him.
“I have no idea what you are talking about,” Tony replies with a smile.
Martta shakes her head back and forth, “You have been up here so long partying and playing you have neglected what you were sent here to do, Revenant,” she accuses.
This seems to visibly shake Tony’s resolve and facade.
Mathew notices this and asks, “What is she talking about Tony?”
Tony puts up his hands in a now hold on gesture.
“He is a lazy ass worthless Revenant. They are supposed to be sending the escapees back to Hell. But none of them have sent any escapee back in over seventeen years. That is why I am here.”
“Really Mathew, I think your friend here needs some psychiatric help,” Tony accuses Martta.
“Hey dumb ass, there are two things you should know. One, before I left Hell I hit the archives memorizing every Revenant and the escapees their supposed to return. Second, I can read the demonic script on your arm. Not only do I know whose name it is, I also know that you were the Revenant assigned to take Catalina back, Tony. Or should I call you by your real name, Marcus Antonius.”
At this revelation, Tony drops all pretenses, “Well since you have done my job for me then I can be magnanimous. After all, it doesn’t matter if I send her back or if you do, once the last of a Revenant’s charges has been sent back he gets his second chance on earth,” he smiles.
“Technically, the agreement you had was if any of Hell’s agents kills the last one then you get your second chance. But there is one thing you don’t realize,” Martta says.
“What’s that?” Tony says condescendingly.
Martta smiles and says, “I am not sponsored by Hell. I am another escapee. Have fun with Izabar shithead,” she then reveals her soul tattoos and does the incantation to send Catalina back.
“No,” Tony screams as he realizes she is right. He pulls out his roman gladius sword and tries to kill her. Mathew and Tyler react and shoot him.
Mathew and Tyler turn to Martta, when they hear her screaming from the release of Catalina’s soul.
Section 14

Catalina’s soul rips free from Martta’s and rises above her. It then merges with the other parts of Catalina. Catalina’s soul screams as she is dragged back down to Hell.

“No, no, no. You bitch you’ve ruined everything,” Tony scream at her.
He grabs his sword and tries to start towards her again.
Martta, without feeling any fear, waves bye-bye to him, picks up her bag with grenades and puts the gas mask back on.
As Tony tries to reach her, Mathew and Tyler get ready to shoot him again.
Tony takes one more step, then screams in pain. He looks down to see the demonic tattoo has formed claws that are starting to claw at Tony’s arm. As they start clawing further up his arm Tony, in desperation, uses the sword and cuts his arm off at the elbow.
As Tony’s screams draw everyone else's attention, Martta starts tossing the tear gas and smoke grenades to cover her escape. She makes her way to a student’s motorcycle and hot wires it. She drives away in a cloud of smoke and teargas. After Martta gets half a block away, Tony starts to scream again.
Everyone looks at Tony, whose arm on the ground has sprouted tendrils and claws. The claws slash Tony up and pull his pieces into them and drag Tony down to Hell.
Mathew and Tyler look at each other not knowing what to think of what just happened.

Kristov had been waiting for another soul flare up from his target. His senses could almost never be fooled once he was on a soul’s track. He had not yet encountered Martta soul track in his search.

But, he just now felt Martta’s soul flare and traveled to investigate it. He arrived at a school with many people standing around it. He could sense soul residue from his target and went to it to investigate.
It had been 40 minutes since Tony had been dragged down to Hell and the police were now doing their investigations and securing the area. They had gotten all the students back inside. Counselors and staff were seeing to the students. Everything seemed to be calming down with people not knowing how to process what they saw. Then something else happened. Some guy in a cloak came drifting down from the sky and went to where Katie had been killed.
“You in the cloak, put your hands up and turn around slowly,” one of the police officer yelled at Kristov.
Kristov turned and looked at the one who would dare talk to him in such a manner. As he turned, Kristov’s cloak parted and revealed his body. His body had only the top half there. What was there was emaciated. The body appeared to have no flesh, just the skin and bones, when there was skin. Portions of the skin were missing on the rib cage, shoulders and face. The bones seemed to be glowing with an emerald deep green.
Section 15

Unable to process what he is seeing, the police officer fires at Kristov. The bullets seem to have no noticeable effect on Kristov, other than to upset him.

Kristov glides over to the police officer, who shot him, and slashes out with his hand and rips the officer in two pieces. The other officers, upon seeing one of their own killed, start to fire as well. Kristov descends on them and starts to tear through them like they were wet paper.
Upon seeing the patrol officers being slaughtered, the two tactical response teams start opening up on Kristov with everything they have. After watching the swat teams getting butchered, detective Martinson observes that the creature is using the bodies of its victims to regenerate itself.
“Stop firing, we are only helping it heal,” he hollers out repeatedly.
As the police stop firing, Kristov turns to the one who appears to be in command. He drifts over to detective Martinson and stares him in the eyes.
“Insignificant flesh sacks,” Kristov says then floats away from the detective to Catalina’s remains. Kristov starts to investigate, circling the remains trying to get Martta’s scent. He picks up a scent and starts to follow it. What Kristov does not realize is that he is following Catalina’s scent. Catalina and Tony’s soul shreddings covered up Martta’s soul flare. Also, the Thioacetone has covered up Martta’s physical smell.
Kristov decides not to bother anymore with the meat sacks and phases into the ground heading to where he thinks Martta is.
Three hours later, detective Martinson is in the rangers’ conference room reviewing various body cam videos of the event at the school with Mathew and his team.
“Have you ever come across anything like this before Mathew?” Martinson asks.
“Never, not in my time with the Texas Rangers or with the Army Intelligence,” Mathew replies.
“It’s not that it was immune to our weapons. It’s just that thing was able to regenerate so quickly. We would have to use major heavy weapons to deal with it, whatever it is,” Tyler says.
During the conversation, Mathew’s secretary escorts another person into the conference room. He sits there unannounced observing.
“This doesn’t even address how we are going to tell over 50 officer’s families how they were killed. Also, how we are going to tell the public who she was?” Mathew says, “I can’t imagine anything worse than trying publicly explain our suspect was a 500-year old mercenary nun.”
The new person says, “Try explaining your suspect was actually Jack The Ripper.”
As one the group turns to new man and detective Martinson asks, “who are you?”
The man replies, “I am Elite inspector Pierre Rousseau with Interpol. I am following up on a yellow letter for a person of interest.”
He hands Martta’s yellow letter to Mathew, “I am glad to see she is alive and well”. He points to one of the videos of Martta.
“Delhi,” Mathew states, “that’s where I have seen Martta before.”
Section 16

“What can you tell us Inspector?” Mathew asks.

Pierre fills them in on all the information he has about Martta and shares the video clips with them. While reviewing the clips, it is Tyler that notices something.
“Bring up these two clips and do a 3D image comparison analysis,” he tells the computer technician. They all look at the analysis.
“She is missing pieces of the color bands,” Mathew remarks.
“So that is what she meant,” Pierre says. The others look at him confused and curious.
“Martta said ‘I have so many other people to go see to’. These are not just cosmetic, they are her targets,” Pierre says.
“That’s a lot of targets,” Tyler states.
They are contemplating this new data when Detective Martinson gets a phone call, “Mathew they have found Catalina’s liar and all the missing faces.”
“Let’s go. Coming inspector?” Mathew asks.
They get to Catalina’s liar and are looking at the evidence. The number of faces they find is staggering. Some are over 100 years old.
A patrol man comes in and says, “Sirs, we think that thing from the school is heading this way. We better clear out. The army is on its way.”
“Let’s head back to the office, we can finish this up after the army deals with whatever that thing is,” Tyler suggests. They all return to the office.
Kristov is closing in on his prey. He can feel the prey’s residue greatly in the place above him. He ascends to the location and begins to search it for Martta.
Kristov finally finishes his search of the building. To his surprise does not find the target Martta nor any sign she was ever there. He then proceeds to search it over again and again. Finally, after 4 hours of searching, he comes to the conclusion that somehow he has lost her trail. He moves outside to above the building to think and reassess.
While he is thinking, the meat sacks send one of their flying machines to watch him. In his annoyance and anger he flies over and destroys it, “Now they will leave me alone” Kristov thinks.
In the distance, Kristov sees more of the meat sacks flying machine approaching him. These have a different design. He stares at them curiously.
The approaching helicopters are the 8 AH-64D Apache Longbows of bravo company 1st cavalry division from Fort Hood Texas, known as the Reapers.
The lead pilot in charge asks over the radio, “Command do we have a go on target?”
A response comes back from the radio, “The general says to not come back with anything in the racks. Destroy that thing.”
The lead pilot says, “Reapers fire.”
All the Apaches launch all of their missiles in synchronized attacks, that Kristov in coordinated waves and utter obliterate him.
The lead pilot says, “Command target destroyed.”
The radio responds back, “Good job Reapers. Return to base. The general says the first round is on him.”
Section 17

In the conference room is the ranger team, Pierre and an army general.
“What in the hell was that thing?” the general asks Pierre.
“I have no idea. We have never seen anything like it,” he replies.
“Does anyone have any information on what has happened in the last 2 days?” the general asks, “and why does this woman,” he points at videos of Martta “appear to be sending them back to Hell?”
A female voice states, “Maybe I can be of some assistance.” It is Laaiqa Al-Quadri, the UN worker helping Pierre.
They turn to her, “Our researchers believe that we have come across a war going on between rival black science factions. One of the factions appears to have been using genetic manipulation to animate clones, imprinted with memories from various dead figures from history. It appears another faction has created this ‘Martta’ to seek them out and destroy them. As far as the flying thing we can only speculate that it was created by a 3rd faction and is some sort of new type of drone,” she says.
The general replies, “You really don’t expect us to believe any of that do you?”
“Come general,” Laaiqa responds, “which is more probable? The genetic manipulation or that escaped creatures from Hell, who died over a hundred years ago, are living among us? I know we cannot prove any of this, yet. But, I believe further research and evidence will prove what I am saying.”
“What about the bodies' decomposition to utter destruction in under a week?” Pierre asks.
“We believe that one of three things is causing this. Either the weapons used have been coated with an organic Nano virus designed to destroy the evidence or this ‘Martta’ has been programmed with a code that causes the self-destruction of the tissues in her targets. Maybe even this ‘Martta’ was breed with a customized airborne pathogen that works only with the cells of her targets. It could be reacting to a unique element from the cloning process. We don’t know yet because the rapid deterioration of the bodies destroys all physical evidence, which may be the primary purpose behind ‘Martta’,” She concludes.
“Do you have any idea how many of these things Martta has destroyed?” Pierre asks.
“We have tentative evidence that this one was the 5th,” She shares.
“Five in a little over two months, that’s ambitious,” Pierre responds
“We will expect to see all your data and be kept in the loop,” The general says.
“Of course general, we will also be happy to provide the same to any agency as they request,” Laaiqa states before leaving.
An hour later, Laaiqa is on the phone “Yes they have believed the rogue scientist story. But we must prepare false data to back it up and increase the security on Hamad. The threat posed by this Martta is real. We must either capture her or destroy her, before she can harm him,” and then hangs up.
